123-Reg is no longer broken

I don’t think I will have been receiving any email to the affiliateblog.co.uk email address for the last few days. 123-Reg seem to have broken down and the system has frozen. They are not registering any new domains that I have requested in the last few days and there is no reply from support. In my account I still have a handful of .eu domains that I requested which they failed to register for me but did charge me for and they have left them in my account as if I do own them.

This was supposed to be just a quick message to ask anyone to resend email that has been sent in the last week but instead it’s a bit of a rant about 123-reg not being very good at the moment. I think it’s all gone wrong since they put The Hoff in a pipex t-shirt

UPDATE

ok so it looks like my issues have been sorted out now. Tom from 123-Reg has been in touch and I’m happy again. I have to admit the email issue was entirely my fault as I had forgotten how I set it up in the first place - sorry Tom. My new domain has now been registered and the .eu domains that they didn’t manage to register have now been removed from my account leaving it nicely cleaned up

Anyway - if you want something more useful to do, have a listen to the podcast with Jason Dale It’s proving to be quite popular and downloads of this one combined with the previous interview with Shawn Collins are taking me close to last months data transfer levels in only the first half of this month.

On the theme of 123reg being broken, I recently bought a domain and when I got to checkout, two other random domain names appeared in my basket. I thought for a minute about buying them and they seem kind of good, but decided against. Checked later and they were indeed registered that day by a 123reg customer. The lesson? Don’t hang about during checkout in case your domains end up in someone elses basket!

I have a few different websited with them and I purchased 10 new pop3 boxes the other day and they still don’t work. I have phoned them, faxed them, emailed them and wrote to them and there is no response. Their telephone line is a Premium Rate line and they can’t even be bothered answering that. It seems they have given up!

I have recently registered three domains with 123, web hosting and POP 3 Mailboxes.

I am having problems with two sets of POP 3 mailboxes where it is taking up to 8 hours to both receive and deliver emails which is really pretty awful when you are intending to launch a web site with ordering and buy facility.

I also have a major problem as I cannot access any of the ftp Servers to upload my new web sites. I have emailed many times without response. I have tried for the last three days to call their premium number without answer.

I tried to contact 123-reg tech support about a problem with my site and it was nearly two months before I got a response, apologising for the delay blah.. blah… no solution. I asked again, no reply. Emails started to take days(sometimes 10!) to arrive, if they ever came at all. STILL no reply from tech support.
DO NOT USE 123-REG !!! DO NOT USE 123-REG !! oh, and for you at the back… DO NOT USE 123-REG!!!

I can’t even log into my account at present - for some reason when accessing the website from Vietnam I get a ‘Fedora Core Test Page’ instead of their website (I’ve checked the IP address and it’s correct) and if I enter through a proxy I can’t log into my account either - its a real bind as I have several domains that need redirecting to new places!

123-reg problems do seem to be continuing for people which is a shame. I’ve been ok recently but I don’t think I trust them like I used to.

Jonny - if I can help you out in any way let me know.

I have had a website with 123-reg now for a year, and have never gotten my POP emails to work, despite numerous discussions with their technical support, I still can’t get it fixed. all 20 of my POP boxes simply do not work with any email client. everyone seems to be stumped.

123-reg is a Mary Celeste company! No one ever answers your queries preferring instead to send you automated repsonses - and should you have the nerve to reply saying you’d like the question to be addressed properly - by a human - they then send you an email saying ’sorry for the delay - unpresendented demand etc etc …your query is now closed’ what!!!!!!!!!!!!!??!

Am in the process of shutting down my account… please someone - give me the details of a company that has great customer support and no premium rate. pleeeeeeeese!
