adCenter Labs tools - Commercial Intention

The commercial intention tool probably has more of a real use to the affiliate and is helpful for building keywords list and negative keywords.

This search shows that someone searching for “video camera” has a strong intention to buy

Someone searching for “buy video camera” is even more likely to buy

However someone searching for “video camera review” is probably more at the research stage

and someone searching for “video camera instructions” could well be wasting your PPC spend if you are broad matching for that term

So what point am I trying to make? In PPC advertising this shows that while advertising on the term “video camera” will get you some customers using it as an uncontrolled broad match term might well cost you more than you would like. It would well be worth getting a bit more control by adding terms like “instructions” and “review” to your negative keywords lists. It may also be worth your while bidding higher on terms with “buy” in them as it shows a clear intention to make a purchase and your conversion rate should be higher.

Each time I use the commercial intention tool, the Commercial-Transactional part always has a probability over 1. For example, it’ll say something like: Prob.: 3.5535e-002 Can someone please explain what this means? Thank in advance!
