Adcenter Rant

How can Adcenter be so poor? Everytime I try to use the interface I get frustrated at how slow it is and how frequently it just gives up. I waited to speak to someone at support but they couldn’t help with an issues that has been going on for more than a month because they couldn’t access part of the account in Internet Explorer either. They called me back 15 mins later but I missed the call and now I’ve been on hold again for 14 mins so far.

And all because I want to spend some money with them. I really can’t believe how bad the whole system is :(

I feel your frustration. I’ve been waiting for ages for them to appeal some of my keywords, but they’ve not come back to me yet. All the more frustrating given many web marketers I’ve seen mention AdCenter all rate the conversion rates they get through it, thanks to it’s integration with a lot of default MS searches.

The whole process just feels so wrong - ad edits, lack of field memory, slow keyword management, etc. They should look at AdWords and try at least copying it. It’s just MS all round really - slow and behind the game.

Thanks for posting Dio. “The whole process just feels so wrong” That just sums the whole thing up!

I eventually got through on the phone but they are just saying the same thing as I’ve been told for the last month about how they are going to fix my problem “this afternoon”

It’s so strange because with a little bit more investment I’m sure they could be making a whole lot more money for themselves. With things the way they are just now I’m getting ready to throw in the towel and forget about them.

Well, with the 70 Billion they’re set to make off Vista, I think the AdCenter money isn’t that important to them. ;)

Fraser, do you fancy swapping? You manage my Google Adwords and I will manage your MS Adcenter?

I have been using MSA for a couple of months now, and can honestly say that I have found it the quickest and easiest interface to build campaigns of 10000’s of words and linking to specific pages. Not only thats but I am amazed at the level of personal support thats provided - and no, I’m not being sarcastic for once in my life ;)

There have been times when I’ve had issues, and the phone-call for me is usually picked up and dealt with in no more than 5 minutes. On one occasion, MS even phoned me back, and as I wasn’t near the computer, offered to make the necessary changes on my behalf so to minimise the delay to my Ads going live.

Strange how different people have different experiences, different stories, and different feelings on what is deifned as a GUI.

Stick with it mate and if you have any probs, you have my MSN.

Frostie - if the account hadn’t been inactive for most of November & December because they have been unable to take a payment from two different cards that every one else is charging to with no problems then I might see your point of view a bit more!

Thanks for the comments though!
