Affiliate Blog News
Sponsors
I have two advertisers currently running and another two just getting banners ready before they go live. It’s great to have this support for the blog & podcast and so I’m very grateful to Carsten Cumbrowski and also to AMWSO for their sponsorship. AMWSO have just launched Forzieri on the Linkshare UK network so take a look at that.
Comments
I’ve finally got fed up checking through the spam that Akismet caught to make sure it hasn’t picked up any real comments and so I’ve gone with the Did You Pass Math plugin modified by Scott Jangro. Please let me know if you have any problems commenting.
Next Podcast
I’m currently finishing off a podcast interview recorded with Malcolm Cowley from buy.at so that should be online soon. Editing always takes me longer than planned but I hope to move to a more predictable cycle of podcast releases.

“sorry, this is to make sure you’re a real person” - a slightly damning verdict on anyone with numeracy problems, but I’d doubt they’d cut in affiliate marketing anyway so no great loss

Unfortunately I’m getting loads of spam coming through and I’ve no idea why
Is it possible they are using cached pages that don’t refer to the plugin or something like that?

How is this proving now after a few days mate? I too am seeing a substantial increase in Spam, and likewise am not keen on checking every comment to ensure its not a real comment.
I am going to implement image verification once I find one for wordpress. I’ve used it in Forums before and found it to be 99.9% successful so far.

Nope I’m just getting lots of comment spam
Do I keep akismet running as well or should the Math plugin handle it all?
