Affiliate Shares - ERL or EBTM

E-retail (ERL)

I don’t know too much about this company yet but it certainly looks like it could be an interesting time to buy. They have recently completed a reverse acquisition of Everything But The Music and the shares will soon be listed as EBTM instead of ERL. Current price is 6p.

“EBTM Ltd was formed in April 2005 as a new online specialist retailer of music
merchandise and related clothing and fashion. The website EBTM.com was launched
in July 2005. It currently sells licensed products from over 150 bands from The
Rolling Stones to Razorlight, from Bob Marley to Motorhead.”

They have reported operational breakeven in December 2005 and now plan to invest to develop the brand. ERL/EBTM seem to be paying good attention to affiliate marketing and the board includes a founding director of ASOS who have grown very well with the benefit of a good affiliate program although it has had a few hiccups recently. The ASOS share price today is 103.75p up from 41p in May 05.

I can’t help wondering if EBTM is going to be a similar success story.

I can’t help wondering how they could possibly be a similar success story given that their current target audience is a fraction of that of ASOS. Doesn’t sit comfortably for me - waiting to be proved wrong!

I think EBTM has a great potential. It has got some talented people behind it who were responsible for the success of ASOS.com

I’m not sure that the target audience of EBTM is a fraction of ASOS. EBTM products have a pretty wide appeal and I wouldn’t say that ASOS has something for everyone.

It’s interesting that since I first wrote this though the share price has definitely dropped. I hope to meet Quentin Griffiths this week at a networking meeting so if I get a chance I’ll have a chat.

Great little company. Don’t underestimate the power of selling to kids who adore certain artists/bands.
This one will be a winner.

The company itself will grow rapidly, after poaching key menswear buyer from asos! A lot more brands have been and are being introduced, which will enable them to broaden their market! We’ll see what the AGM says
??
