I’ve been reading the free magazine from Affiliate Classroom. It’s an interesting read and nice to see someone produce some quality writing on affiliate marketing rather then the usual get rich quick ebook stuff. There is a free 64 page pdf to download and read - although I reckon if you take away the adverts you have about half that to read.

Pages 5-11 are the readers letters and it’s here you are reminded that this is magazine is starting from quite a low level. I don’t mean that it’s a dummies guide but the letters do cover stuff that you will already know if you are a full time affiliate.

Their main story is then a look at affiliate marketing in the European market which of course covers us in the UK. Some interesting stats show that the UK is leading the way in buying online with internet users buying an average of 12 items in the last 12 months. It’s an interesting article although pretty heavy on the statistics which makes for difficult reading. However there is a quote from “Nicky Iapino, COO dealgroupmedia” which makes me wonder what else is out of date.

They include a nice mention of a4uforum and recommend that as the place to find out more and the UK and Europe. From a network point of view they mention Tradedoubler, dgm , Zanox, OMG, affilinet, CJ, Linkshare, Maxiads & Cibleclick.

I was intruiged by this quote about dgm

The company also provides an impressive array of reports, well laid out and with a variety of useful statistics

which just isn’t true in my experience.

It seems like a strange choice to mention a smaller player like Maxiads but ignore buy.at, AW, POR, AF etc. Overall though it’s intersting to see how the UK market is viewed in America.

The last article I read was about Adsense Arbitrage which I’ll probably give a try and then write about in more detail in the future.
