Getting Back to Work

I don’t think I’ve achieved too much in July but it has been a great month with a couple of weeks of holiday. Last week was devoted to shopping for baby stuff in preparation for the October arrival! It’s a whole new world for me and it’s strange to go shopping for something I have no idea about. I normally do a lot of shopping online but it’s been a good reminder this week that it’s hard to beat good customer service in person.

This morning I’ve just been catching up with some blog reading and here are a few things worth catching up on.

• Jason and Julian from Dfinitive both made really interesting posts comparing some of the many UK affiliate marketing blogs. Jason focused on technorati rankings and Julian used alexa rankings.
• Sam Harrelson started a new podcast with Jeff Doak called the Jeff and Sam Show. I have both episodes on my ipod now so I’ll be listening soon as I’m sure there will be some great content in there.
• Shawn Collins listed the podcasts that he is listening to and it was great to see mine amongst them. It makes me feel all the more guilty for a lack of new podcasts in July so it’s time to get that sorted out. I posted a list of the podcasts I listen to a while ago.
• Paul over at Moose on The Loose has been saying what a lot of us already think about the wording of merchant terms and conditions and also the restrictions that merchants try to enforce on affiliates.
• Affiliate Summit issued an invitation for applications for press passes for the London event. I’m not sure that I’ll make it to this with it being so close to the due date of our baby but I would certainly encourage others to consider putting their names forward for a press pass
• Kirsty over at AffiliateStuff.co.uk continues to post some really fantastic advice for affiliates. I won’t link to specific posts as they are all worth reading but make sure you head over there and subscribe.

Well that’s what I’ve been reading this morning so now it’s time to get back to building websites
