How To Start An Affiliate Program

I’ve just read an excellent article written by Mark Russell from Existem AM which outlines all the information you might need as a starting point for launching an affiliate program. Mark outlines the main considerations as well as some great Do’s & Don’ts. I often get emails from merchants asking for advice and from now on this is going to be the starting point.

Launching a new and successful affiliate programme

Even if you have been running an affiliate program for years it’s well worth reading through this guide and taking the time to do a health check on your affiliate program.

Many thanks for your post on ‘How to Start an Affiliate Program’.

As a relatively new webmaster, this is a subject I’m just beginning to get into and this offered some useful insight into the economics – a factor that, remarkably, I seem to have overlooked!

My concern as a webmaster has not been so much about how to generate affiliate income, but rather, how to select adverts that will boost rather than detract from the content of the site. All too often I come across sites plastered with banners, all different subjects, all different colours – and the result is that the site looks busy and cheap.

As with search engine marketing, this strikes me as yet another area of web management requiring a skilled balancing act – and of course part of the solution is to operate different sites for different purposes.

Meanwhile, I have the info stored in my favourites for reference – thanks again!

What do you think of the new affiliate program to have audio adds and get paid for every hit to your site or blog?

I am wondering what others think of it.

Nathan – I think the same as shoemoney

And I don’t like you spamming my blog with your affiliate link so that’s now been edited.

Apologies for repeating comment (thought the first one hadn’t gone through, and that it deserved a comment).
