Update

Carl Davis, CTO at DGM plc kindly confirmed some details on feeds via email

“We currently support the following automated feeds:
1. XML advertiser product feeds with product images and deeplinks
2. Webservices publisher API (automatically download sales, commission, clicks, impressions and other metrics). This is configurable; for example you can select to download sales/commission earned for a specified date range or for every hour.

We hope these features will assist affiliates to automatically update their websites and databases. “

Interesting interview with Adrian Moss. Good to hear him being straight about some of DGM’s recent problems.

Interested in Adrian’s suggestion that affiliates move their campaigns
over to DGM, and buying stock in the company. Would have been good to know what the incentive for such a move would be. Given that many affiliates took their business elsewhere after the DGMPro kerfuffle, what, if anything, can DGM offer over other networks to tempt publishers back, or to rebuild faith in DGM.

Was an interesting interview, first thing well done to Fraser for getting Adrian to come on and talk, glad to see you asked the difficult questions as well. Also like to say thanks to Adrian for not hiding behind the age old excuses for not talking to Affiliates that number of your competitors use and that’s the “I am a PLC so can possibly speak to you” ;-) Everyone knows that what the normal every day staff say have no effect on the share price, it’s what the Directors say that counts and what you had to say certainly could have had no other effect than to raise your standing and certainly gotten me to rethink about using DGM again.

Only thing I was not chuffed at was when basically implied everyone was an amateur other than DGM & TD. This I found to be most humours as I can’t think of any other Network that has done such an amateur launch of a new control panel. I certainly do believe there is room for improvement with all Networks, but let’s not confuse banter and being on the ground level with the people who make all the money “the Affiliates” as being unprofessional.

Anyway I look forward to seeing a few more people take part in future interviews.

Good interview and it’ll be interesting to see how 2007 pans out for DGM. Like Pete I was intrigued by the suggestion that affiliates should invest in DGM not only as an affiliate but by buying shares… adapting that slightly, perhaps offering affiliate’s stock options as a bonus on top of their earnings might be an idea to consider (don’t ask me if it’s feasible or legal)?

(PS… not a bad idea for any network come to think of it…)
