Linkshare in the UK

I’ve just read that Linkshare have launched a UK network recently which could be interesting. They are well known in the US and were bought out by a Japanese company called Rakuten for $425 Million around one year ago.

Given the scale of the company it could be interesting to see what influence they can have in the UK however it was amusing to see which networks Linkshare are already aware of in the UK.

Who are DGH? Where are Affiliate Future?

I can’t find any details of a true UK presence i.e. address & phone number but I think they would need to make some moves in this area as working from the US but dealing with UK could end up being tricky.

  1. [...] Several days ago Linkshare launched their UK-Platform. It’s the second biggest Affiliate Platform in the USA and also active in Canada and Japan (the japanese Portal Rakuten bought them last year for 425 Mio USD). Let’s see if that will help them in the UK - a market which is more fragmented than that of the USA. [...]

I’m curious too about how Linkshare will develop in the UK. There were rumours on ADVFN.com that they would buy DGM.

P.S I think DGH was suppposed to be DGM :)

Yeah I guess you are right Nadeem - I was just trying to be awkward ;-)

Interesting rumours from ADVFN, I’ll go and check that out.

Found it for you. Here’s one of the statements on ADVFN:

“As yet they [Linkshare] don’t have a single client that we can see, but they have told us to expect merchants ‘over the next few weeks’ weeks personally I believe that buying DGM must be one of the options they are seriously looking at. DGM fills in the Globe for them - Japan, US, Canada, UK and Australia.”

Hearing more and more rumours about Linkshare’s plans for conquering Airstrip One by the day. Will be interesting to see if they can get a foothold on (what I believe is) an already-crowded market.

Me and you seem to be the only two people without our own (a) affiliate network and (b) cashback site!

thanks for that nadeem: you’re always a goldmine of information. With linkshare entering the UK market and new entrants like primeq things are getting interesting!
