Pay for Secrets?

Matt over at A4uforum has just announced the launch of a new paid forum. It’s an interesting idea and one which I think should pay off. It might mean people become just that little more trusting again although as Keith has already pointed out in that thread £80 could be quite cheap for the information you would get access to. It should also be the start of people paying something back for all the benefits they have got over the years.

Webmasterworld started a private forum a while back too and although I’ve never signed up and paid the cash myself I’ve heard some mixed reports. Certainly from the front page of WMW all the interesting threads do look to be getting discussed there but other’s I have spoken to say that it can still be the same mix of guess work and half truths that can go on in other threads.

Even more than just being private there are also a few “secret” forums out there like SecretSEO.com where you need to know someone on the inside to join the club. I think this might turn out to be a decent approach although as I’m on the outside I have no idea what they are talking about :)
