Podcast Interview with Graham Keen from Buyagift
I haven’t made many posts recently as I’ve been working on getting some podcasts organised and recorded. I’m going to start with a series of 3 podcasts taking a look at Affiliate Marketing from the perspective of Merchant, Affiliate and Network. Today’s podcast is an interview with Graham Keen who is the affiliate manager at Buyagift. Graham shares some tips and advice from his perspective as a full time affiliate manager in a company where affiliate marketing provides around 30% of turnover.

I’m keen to hear any feedback on the podcast and tips for future recordings.

Hey Fraser,
Great first podcast, really enjoyed it. My only critisism would be the “telephone call style” sound quality. I’m not sure if you left that like that on purpose but i’m sure there’s some kind of audio filters or plugins out there that will compress and “warm” the sound. Speaking of plugins, you might like to check this out which is a flash player for mp3′s which had been designed for wordpress. Maybe you could use something like this for your series?

Look forward to the rest.
Cheers
Paul.

Thanks for your comments Paul. I’ve implemented the plugin you suggested so it can now be played from the page without downloading.
As for the sound quality I do know what you mean, I’ve tried to do a little editing to improve things but I’ll see what else I can do. I’m planning to invest in some better equipment if the podcasts seem to be well received so that should help too.
Do you know any decent suppliers of audio equipment?

From an Affiliate perspective, it’s good to hear interviews with leading affiliate managers like Graham from BuyAGift. We don’t promote many sales with BuyAGift, but interviews like this help promote confidence in pushing BuyAGift a little further.
It’s also good to know the percentage (30%) that Affiliate Marketing contributes to BuyAGift because this is important in determining the importance of Affiliate efforts for BuyAGift. I can see our importance from last years figures and it needs improving to get one of the experience days mentioned by Graham in the Podcast!
It was a good Podcast, I really enjoyed it. The quality wasn’t the best, but turn the volume up and it’s easy enough to listen to.
Cheers,
Nick
